Hello, I'm Paul Narvas. I'm a passionate Architectural Technologist with a degree in BSc (Hons) Architectual Technology and MSc Technical Architecture. I'm based in Sheffield (UK) with my family and am originally from the Philippines.
My professional interests lie in green and environmental buildings and innovative and functional design. Driven by improving sustainability in construction, I've been furthering my learning on optimisation of strategies to minimise energy expenditure throughout the lifecycle of a building. In addition to this, I'm very interested in the future of technology and how this will affect the design process.
My experience over the years varies from creating small personal residential projects up to larger-scale projects, including retail, offices, and leisure sectors. The iconic Fallingwater by Frank Lloyd Wright is my favourite building! A dream of mine would be to take on a challenge of creating a city masterplan or building an ecovillage.
At work, I enjoy collaborating with teams. I believe teamwork is a vital part of what fuels my motivation and is the best way to reach those ambitious goals.
Gained from over 10 years of industry experience, my technical skills and knowledge include:
Outside of professional life, I'm an avid health enthusiast! I enjoy lifting, distance running and cycling in particular. I've also spent a few years practising Mixed Martial Arts.
Worked on a £50 million retail, leisure and office scheme for Waverley in Rotherhamand Stroud.
Worked on projects from £50K to £9M on construction management, design and build and traditional procurement.
Part of the design team. This experience developed my skill in finding imaginative and effective solutions to unquie design problems.
I recieved on the job training. I was involved in a onsite visits which improved my understanding on construction and dealing with issues that arise in projects.
